Goizueta students are invited to apply to pitch their startup concept. Every week, 2 student startups pitch to 2 Goizueta professors, who provide feedback and recommendations, to help turn it into reality. Pitches take place somewhere around Goizueta, over a casual dinner, in an informal but dynamic setting. The best eight concept pitches each semester, receive a chance to obtain a spot at the Atlanta Tech Village.com (ATV) incubator (6 months of free rent) to start their business, free consulting services from the Professors, free workshops, and a meeting with an attorney. A short application, receivable upon request, is required to be able to pitch to the professors. Last year, we also launched a parallel program called “pitch-the-VC”, held once a year, where the most promising ideas can pitch to one of our Investors in residence.

The Summit is designed to encourage, celebrate, and enhance entrepreneurial endeavors amongst Emory students in all programs, with a particular focus on supporting undergraduate ventures. Attendees have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of outstanding entrepreneurial alumni, showcase their own ideas through the "Pitch the Summit" Elevator Pitch Competition, and network with others to share best practices and new ideas.

Well, this is the question Nancy Duarte takes on as she shares with the audience the secret of an excellent presentation.  In this fascinating talk Nancy Duarte explains the model that she developed for designing transformative presentations.  She explains the essential qualities of an excellent presentation by analyzing the speeches of Martin Luther King and Steve Jobs.   She reminds us that the only way to spread important ideas is to make sure that one is communicating his or her ideas effectively using strong presentation skills. 

Guy Kawasaki is the chief evangelist of Canva, trustee of the Wikimedia Foundation, and executive fellow at the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley. Formerly, he was an advisor to the Motorola business unit of Google and chief evangelist of Apple. He is the author of The Art of the Start 2.0, The Art of Social Media,Enchantment, and ten other books. Guy has a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA as well as an honorary doctorate from Babson College.
